Hey, Hannah, welcome to the podcast.
It's so lovely to have you here.
Thank you.
I am so excited to talk a bit about pregnancy and postpartum and just the continuity of care model that you offer as a midwife.
But why don't you get started by telling us a bit about you and the work that you do?
So I am a private midwife.
So I predominantly now work in continuity of care and assist people with having their baby at home is sort of my main focus.
focus.
I have three little kids so four, eight and ten.
I originally started off in nursing and yeah I sort of stumbled across midwifery.
It wasn't a big purposeful thing at the time.
I just sort of was like oh it'd be great to work with babies.
It was very superficial and And then as I started to work within midwifery, I really fell in love with it and I found my passion and my purpose.
And now it really, really drives me and I have a strong, yeah, strong calling toward it, I guess.
And...
Yeah, so I went into midwifery and then I had my third baby at home really quickly, which was actually an accident.
But that sort of transformed my mind a little bit.
And, yeah, when I worked in the hospital, I just – I am quite natural-minded and I'd always seek care from a naturopath or – I just sort of found myself in alternative sort of circles and that really aligned with me with eating good food and looking after my family.
And when it came to looking after other people's family and their babies, I guess out of hospital birth, it attracted me to work in that sort of way.
And even with continuity of care, I guess working in the private space, I also just enjoyed that experience.
and found my home, yeah, in working in my own business.
Yeah.
So
cool.
So I've been doing that for 18 months since I left the hospital and now working in my own private business.
