Imagine a world without technology.

No cell phones, no social media, no television, no cars, no refrigerators.

It's hard to conceive, but there are people out there right now, right here in America, that live without this stuff because of their religious beliefs, and I am talking about certain Amish communities.

They usually avoid these things because they want to preserve their values of simplicity, self-reliance, modesty, and because they wanna prevent their lives from sinful traits like pride, vanity, and worldly attachments.

But at the end of the day, they are still human, just like the rest of us.

Temptation exists for everyone, discipline is hard to maintain, and the world gets more and more difficult to resist.

I think for some, it's easy to follow the path that your ancestors have laid out before you, but for others, it's just as easy to stray.

So while many of these communities have upheld their values and morals for centuries, which, I mean, that is extremely hard, not everyone who is born in these communities grow up and want to continue in these communities.

Sometimes, I think when someone is suppressed long enough, those consequences can become deadly.

So today, we are going somewhere we haven't really gone before, to an area called Wayne County, Ohio.

This is about 60 miles south of Cleveland.

This is home to the largest Amish community in-

Wow

...

the United States of America.

You know, I don't know too much about the Amish culture.

I mean, all of what I know is what I've [laughs] seen on TikTok, to be honest.

On TLC? [laughs]

No, [laughs] so like on TikTok.

Like, there's always them, like, making food or just...

There's always videos of them, like online, like, always.

Yeah, but they're not supposed to have technology.

I think that's a mis- a misconception in some areas.

You think some subgroups allow it?
