Send us a text! Mike opens up about unemployment, the fear of an uncertain future, and the old Mormon voice that still wonders whether life falling…
um i'm trying not to let get panicked you know like to project into the future right um because it's just really easy for the mind to do that you know when um i
don't know it's just like
all these and you know i'm talking about because i hit record as we were chatting um talking about you know i i laid off i was laid off uh It's been a minute now.
Since June, maybe? Well, I guess that's when...
Technically.
So I got laid off in April, but then like my final day was June.
So I've been like three months like with no work.
And then with the two months, I was like hardly working, you know, but... and you know, I kind of gave myself until this Europe trip to kind of be like, all right, let's start looking for something.
Then I got to get
serious.
Right.
And so, so I have started to get, you know, just slowly reaching out to some recruiters.
I met some people who wanted to see my resume.
So I've kind of been shopping that around and yeah, it's, uh, you know, it's, I think everything that we've learned in these last six years is kind of coming into play the moment as far as, all right.
Um, just, you've got to breathe through the contractions, panic's going to come up, like fear is going to come up, but don't let your mind attached to a story around the fear kind of thing, you know? So that's been, It's been good to have had that, but you know, it's hard when you're in it, you know?
Yeah.
I mean, it's always, that's, that's the experience that I frequently wrestle with is it's one thing to read about and practice and get into a mindset about, you know, how to deal with these types of traumatic or scary situations.
Yeah.
Losing a job, losing a spouse, death.
Like we talk about all that kind of stuff.
But it's when it's – even just like disappointment, failure, being a bad – just whatever it might be, right? Yeah.
When reality sets in, that's when it becomes like you've got to rely on – Your tools.
You've got to rely on the things that we, you know, you and I try to, we're kind of accountability buddies.
Sometimes we give each other a little bit more of a break and we don't hold each other accountable and we let each other just kind of like, we let each other just, you know, kind of explore the space a little bit.
But, you know, it's certainly, I mean, I can see it in your life.
