We start with the news that the UK health and fitness sector has achieved record growth, with reports showing a record 12.2 million people over the age of 16 are now members of a health and fitness…
All right.
What else has been going on, Sammy and Ollie? What have you been up to in the last couple of weeks?
Well, what have we been up to? We have, well, I actually went to the Health, uh, the VIP dinner before their HX26 event, which was the Friday before, and I think, um, do you know what was, what was great about it was firstly I thought, oh, there's gonna be about 30, 40 people here, intimate little gathering of people, but obviously they'd supersized the event this year.
So we arrived, you know, caught up with lots of, you know, great, great speakers.
Shout out to Dan Murray and to Valentina and, and saw Louis.
And I was sort of mingling around with drinks and I thought, oh, this is it.
There's no dinner.
It was essentially a wedding.
There was a speech from the founder, speech from the head of content, and it did feel very much like a wedding and in a beautiful setup, great conversation around what was to come at the weekend.
But they really pulled in a lot of great people across the industry.
But what was interesting was they, they launched their first print magazine, which I think they're calling The Source, episode zero, and it was, they're calling it the anti-optimization issue.
And this was a big part of the conversation, which there's, I feel like there's a certain irony within that with Health.
Yeah.
But they are, you know, they, they stock, you know, I think over 4,000 products, you know, a, a big focus around sort of biohacking and supplementation.
But I tell you what, they, they're, they're one of the fastest growing companies in Europe.
Within just over two years, they've done over 100 million in, you know, annual revenue.
And I would say that they are, they're really on trend.
I think that's what happened over the last couple of years.
So even though they might have built their business around optimization, I think that pivoting and that messaging is gonna help.
So they, they did, it was a great event.
Shout out to Oscar and their, their, their marketing team.
And I think, yeah, it's, it's a, I dunno what you guys think around that anti-optimization, um, messaging.
I thought it was very interesting and, um, yeah, I saw, obviously we caught up after the event.
I know that, you know, you said it was a great event and like you said, great to see like, you know, so many people from the industry, it's always great to go to those things, catch up with everyone.
All right.
