Modern Agent Marketing Girls — Social Media Marketing and Personal Branding for Real Estate Agents
Sep 29, 2026 · 49 min · 15 segments
You know the quote, “If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it'll spend its whole life thinking it's stupid.” We believe many agents are trying so hard to copy the top producer's listing…
So today we're going to talk about how to stop overcomplicating social media and how to have more fun with it.
And that just, when I looked at this book last night and knew we were recording this episode, I had to share about Cheese Gale.
And you know what's so funny? If she thought to herself, I want to make a cookbook, and then she looked up all these other cookbook authors and went through all of their things and was like, okay, so what I'm supposed to do is I'm supposed to do this, this, this, and this.
But it's because you look at something and you don't think to yourself, how do other real estate agents do this? Or how do other cookbook authors do this? Instead, you think to yourself, how do I want to do this? Like, what is this? What feels right to me? And when you lean into that, like that's what gets people talking.
And then through that, it gets people talking because it's kind of, it's just like a breath of fresh air, right? We all know those personalities that just make you feel like, oh, I like when she's around or like, I just love when she, I'm so glad she's able to make it and that kind of thing.
One thing that no one could ever change my mind on is if you are trying to be for everyone, the only thing that you are ensuring is that everyone will forget you.
And, you know, with that, I think that we have to remember, too, like it it feels kind of brave and scary to actually step foot in a territory that's new.
Like, you know, you get your real estate license or maybe you've been marketing one way for a really long time and maybe you've even gotten some clients from it.
But when you start stepping into this new territory of showing up in your unique way with your point of view, it can feel like really uneasy.
Like it's like that line from Friends when Edie was like, well, I was on display once.
