[gentle music] The way you begin the day profoundly sets up the way your day unfolds.
The Spartan warriors said it amazingly.
They said, "Sweat more in training and you'll bleed less in war."
Mm.
So you look at most people and they begin their day like a five-alarm fire.
You know, they start checking their email, they start, you know, hitting the ground running.
And so what the 5 AM Club Method is really all about is the 20/20/20 formula.
Simply the first 20 minutes of your day is intense exercise, and we can get into why that's important in terms of dopamine and reducing cortisol and serotonin-
Yeah
... and norepinephrine.
And then after that, the second 20-minute pocket, uh, which we can get into, is all about reflection, which is where you-
Journaling, meditation
... it's journaling and it's meditation and it's visualization, and you can do some affirmations.
And guess what? You could just sit there in solitude and think.
[gentle music] If you train your brain to do that every single day, then it'll do it on the more difficult and important things in life.
But I also then I do my priming, I think you're familiar with, which is the psychological principle where I take three minutes of those 10 minutes after I've changed my body, and I focus on three different events in my life that I'm grateful for.
I usually pick two big ones and one small one.
It could be as simple as a smile on my daughter's face, uh, the wind against, you know, my skin, and it changes your biochemistry.
And it's not some fake pump up positive thinking, they're real experiences.
So it literally teaches your body to go in that state because otherwise the environment we're in right now, there's a whole deal, lot of uncertainty and fear.
Then real fast, I do this three-minute process that's kinda like a blessing.
And then three minutes, the last three minutes are called three to thrive, where I focus on three things I wanna accomplish, but instead of thinking I wanna accomplish, I see, feel, and experience it as done.
I feel grateful, I celebrate it, and it trains your brain.
So in 10 minutes, I'm done.
Third thing that I'll do, I immediately send a message or a text or an audio message to somebody as a sincere compliment.
