With the Steelers now in Latrobe, Mike Asti drops the mic on why he doesn't like Mike McCarthy's change to eliminate live tackling during training camp…
And for the purpose of this program, I am going to touch on something Mike McCarthy said at his first media availability of his first training camp, now head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, that I don't like at all.
Something that McCarthy said that just rubbed me the wrong way, I do think has rubbed some others the wrong way.
But I go all over the spectrum on, on maybe which side I align with, whether it's the older school or the younger thinking.
And Mike McCarthy, an older man, he is in his 60s, seems to be providing more of a modern thinking, a younger thinking in one aspe- on one aspect on how he's going to run his first training camp as head coach of his hometown team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
A contrast to what Mike Tomlin's been doing and what maybe you would have thought you'd get out of a head coach in his 60s.
Again, Mic Drop here made possible by Believe, available everywhere you get your podcasts, all through social media, and now streaming on not only my personal YouTube channel, but a Mic Drop YouTube channel as well.
I'm gonna be there covering in person later on in this week, especially before my main beat of WVU football gets underway, and their fall camp opens likely around August 4th or 5th is what I'm hearing.
We've been doing it for years, but this is going to turn up the, the notch a little bit from what we produced a year ago.
And we're going to talk with them and get their insight in what actually is going on there at camp, into the preseason, into the season, onward and upward.
And to stop beating around the bush here and alluding, because you probably already know where I'm going, Mike McCarthy, again, talking to the media, not, not for the first time in general, but for the first time at his first Steelers camp, says the Pittsburgh Steelers will not, will not do any live tackling at training camp.
