Easier Said Than Done

So I got a question for you.

We'll start off with that.

What is God calling you to do today? What's something that God's calling you to do in your life? Now, that's a really broad question, kind of a rhetorical question.

I always kind of think of that.

But, you know, that's different because God has individual callings for each of us.

There's no one-size-fits-all calling because each of us are on a different place in our journey.

So when we ask that question, yeah, there's a lot of different answers, but there's kind of one common denominator I found out.

And that...

Again, it's all different, but it kind of comes down to trusting him.

You know, there are so many things that God calls us to do.

There are so many things that we read about in our scripture and that we plan to do.

But at the end of the day, God is calling us to trust in him.

And so like the title of the sermon, sometimes that's easier said than done.

You know, sometimes we make plans without consulting God and what his will might be, and sometimes we pray for God's will that we would do it, but we don't really like the answer that comes out of that.

You know, we have many ideas about what we want to do, but like our scripture reading says, it's not really our plans that succeed.

It's God's plans.

We can make plans all we want, but at the end of the day, we don't really know how it's going to turn out.

What is the old saying? You say, when we make plans, God laughs.

I've found that to be very true in my life.

But yeah, so how do we make plans that will succeed at the Lord? So that's what we're going to talk about today.
