Manistee

I have already adverted to the effects of disease among them producing distress, added to which their corn fields on the Cass River, et cetera, have been covered with water, which totally destroyed the crop.

The farmers and mechanics employed at Manistee reached their station on the second of July and have been assiduously engaged in preparing buildings, et cetera.

An eligible site on a small lake has been selected.

One building, twenty-five by thirty-four, and another, sixteen by twenty-four, are entirely completed.

It was summer-ish and I didn't go to Manistee.

We had a couple of really nice fish in the net.

I chase trout and we're pretty much staying on the upper Manistee or the Jordan River.

I avoid the salmon crowd because that's a completely different game.

And the people that go fishing with me, they're looking for that peace and solitude of being on the river and catching some nice browns.

When I flew out to Michigan for Horizon Rivals a couple years ago, I met my homie from that works and washes at Helios.

And he met me on the connecting flight that flew from Detroit up to the top of like Manistee at the top of Michigan.

And when we met at that connecting flight, he looked at me and he's like, dude, are you okay? And I just like, I shook my head.

And today we need to talk about something that happened in a small Michigan town last month, because what happens in Manistee doesn't stay in Manistee.

On August 17th, the Manistee Blacker Airport Authority held a vote.

They voted to implement landing fees for certain aircraft at Manistee County Blacker Airport.

Those fees go into effect October 1st.

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association called this extremely concerning.

Those airports have a different economic model.

They serve airline traffic, they have massive infrastructure costs, and while we can debate whether those fees are fair, the framework for commercial airports has been established for decades.
