Aug 28, 2026 · 34 min · 16 segments
Follow along as Kevin Clancy (aka KFC Barstool) and Clem (aka The Clem Report) battle through another season with The New York Mets. Will the Mets finally make history with Uncle Stevie (Steve Cohen)…
I also forgot what my last episode was because I think, As I remember.
So how are you feeling about the Mets right now? What's your current state of mind or vibe check, all that kind of stuff?
It's good that Carson Bench is pushing for rookie of the year.
It is good to have building blocks for whenever there is baseball again after this year.
They're winning games, but it's not like it's like scrubs.
It's not like the DJ stewards of the world are winning the games.
It's because Carson Bench has three hits or Nolan McLean pitched well or Zach Thornton pitched well.
It's guys that are going to be a part of the future that are helping them win.
Yep, that's kind of how – first of all, it's like I was going to bring up the whole tanking people for the draft pick, which is, I think, thrown out.
But when you have young guys that are going to be here, you want those guys to succeed.
You don't want to just lose out like it's – If
Marcus Simeon was going on a tear, like winning games, and he was the only one, I'm like, okay, this is just annoying at this point.
Yeah.
If we had 25 Marcus Simeons winning games, I'd be annoyed.
But we have only, like, a few Marcus Simeons, and they're slowly disappearing from our television set.
KFC is back, at least as of now.
Kev, how has your experience with the Mets been the last couple weeks? Baseball is
so stupidly long of a season.
Like, there should be no – glimmer of hope in a season this bad.
It should have just been all bad from start to finish, and it's just done.
And the fact that, like, over the last couple weeks, the conversation I see is, like, could Carson Benz sneak in for NL Rookie of the Year? And, you know, the best young pitcher is Nolan McClain.
And it's like, how can we have... like, several, like, pretty good feel-good stories in a season that is this bad? And the answer is because you play a thousand games a season.
And it's just, like, I really didn't think there would be anything... good about this year.
And I, and I really feel like Ben just keeps getting better.
