SEASON 2 of Meet The Mets Fans is here — and the Mets aren’t wasting any time making changes. With Andy Green officially taking over as manager, the Mets have begun reshaping the coaching staff…
But before we talk about who those guys are and why the changes, let's talk about the thing, the reason why it's happening.
The reason it's happening is because with six games left to go in the dreadful 2026 season, the Mets made the decision that they were going to hire Andy Green full time to take over as the Mets manager.
He did such a great job.
They thought he was the right guy.
I fully agreed with that.
He was the right guy.
He was able to accomplish something that Carlos Mendoza failed to do, which was to be a leader of men in that locker room and get these guys to play together, to build a cohesive unit.
And they really did play that way from the time that Andy took over the team.
Now, he wasn't miraculous, right? We didn't all of a sudden become a playoff team because of Andy Green, but what he did was he made this team fun to watch.
He brought these guys together.
And most importantly, whether he takes credit for, credit for it or Freddy Peralta takes credit for it, Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor are on the same page, and it's very evident to everybody that they have worked out whatever the drama was between them, at least publicly, right? And that's all we could ask for as Met fans and that hopefully these guys can step up and be leaders to the guys in that locker room.
But I'm not the only Met fan who feels that way.
Let's hear from a Met fan that is, like, the Met fan of Met fans, a super fan.
Let's hear from Pin Man, Nick Giampietro.
Nick, take it away.
