Team Fajr: Urwah bin Masood RA ﵁ w/ Qari Yusuf Iyoob | Lives of the Companions Ep.49 | 10/24

That these companions of Nabi ﷺ, they were the ones, yes, Nabi ﷺ was sent down to us and he was sent down as the ultimate role model for us.

We know this and this is why we send so much salawat to Nabi ﷺ.

This is why so much emphasis is given on developing mahabba for Nabi ﷺ.

Without Nabi ﷺ, we would not have anything.

We would not have any guidance on how to live our life.

Many times I mentioned that Allah ﷻ could have just sent down this Qur'an to us and left it at that.

Follow the Qur'an, it has everything you need.

But no, Allah sent down the Quran, and He sent down Nabi as an interpreter of the Quran to explain it to us.

That we sent down this Quran so that you, O Nabi , could explain it to the people.

Not only with your words, but also by your actions.

That how did Nabi live? That is an explanation of the Qur'an.

One time Aisha radiallahu anha, she was asked regarding the character of Nabi ﷺ.

Sahabi said, كيف كان خلق نبي ﷺ? How was the character of Nabi ﷺ? Aisha said, that the character of Nabi ﷺ was the Qur'an.

That Nabi ﷺ was an embodiment of the Qur'an.

That whatever injunctions were there, he would follow it.

Whatever nasiha was there, he would also follow and he would explain it to us as well.

But that's Nabi ﷺ, we understand that.

But how did the Sahaba play a role in this? It is because without them, we would have none of this.

We would not know any of the hadith of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

We would not know what Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam did.

We would not know how Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam explained the Qur'an.

We would have nothing of this deen and religion if it was not for the Sahaba radiallahu anhum.

They transmitted everything about Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

They transmitted us the Qur'an.

That is why when we study, when we study ilm, one of the greatest things about our Islamic tradition is the sanad.
