First thing we normally begin with is what are some of the different names of the surah? Asma'ul surah.

What are the names of this surah? Where was it revealed? Is it Makki or Madani? So surah 111, it has five ayat and there's no difference of opinion about it being a Makki surah.

The main individual, the main character that the surah is revolving around and his wife are definitely from the Makkan period of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam's life.

All of us, I hope, have studied the seerah so we know some idea what we're talking about, who we're talking about.

but some of the points we may mention.

But a deeper discussion of it, the full biography of Abu Lahab, full biography of Rasulullah ﷺ, we need to all spend time to study and read.

And even if we had read it many times in the past, there's still so much we can continue to learn from the seerah of Rasulullah ﷺ.

It's never enough.

It's never that, you know, been there, done that.

I want to read another biography, I already read that one.

There's so much more that can be extrapolated that we can learn from the seerah of Rasulullah ﷺ.

So one of the meanings of, one of the names of the surah is surah al-lahab, al-lahab, flame.

Al-lahab is referring to a burning flame.

And this comes twice in the surah.

One is part of his name, and secondly is part of his azab.

So over here in his name, Abu Lahab is in a different form here because it's in a part of a possessive phrase.

So it's Abi Lahab.

Yada Abi.

But otherwise his name is, normally when you're speaking, we would say, we would pronounce his name as Abu Lahab.

Or his, this is rather a Kunniya.

Kunniya is a title.

Many times it would be referring to the eldest son.

like Rasulullah ﷺ is Abu Qasim.

But it's not necessarily a son, like Abu Hurayrah is a small cat, kitten.

So Abu Hurayrah, obviously, he's not a father of a kitten.
