Well, I guess better than expected if you're, uh, looking for, uh, rates to be on hold.

Uh, we see, uh, a big miss on the September non-farm payrolls, up just twenty-nine thousand.

The market was going for around eighty-nine to ninety thousand, and August was revised down to a hundred and thirty-three thousand from initial one sixty-two thousand.

Uh, the expectations were for a hold at 4.1, so it does give the, the Federal Reserve a little bit more wriggle room, and we did see US markets respond positively to that.

Nasdaq up 1.2% to a record high, three hundred and nineteen points, twenty-seven thousand one hundred and ninety-one.

For a long time, the Nasdaq was half the price of the Dow, but it is now well and truly motoring ahead.

The S&P 500 in the middle for diddle, up 0.7 of a percent, fifty-six points to seventy-seven twenty-three.

And the Russell 2000 doing well, up 0.9 of a percent, twenty-six points there to twenty-eight thirty-three.

The VIX volatility index fell 6.6%, hardly unexpected with this breakout of optimism.

The ten years, though, up 4.1 basis points on the yield to 5.279, and the two years, 3.6 basis points to 4.83.
