How Equity Takes the Risk & Debt Gets Paid First

What about you as an investor, Ryan? Do you invest in other things outside of this specific investment?

Sure.

Absolutely.

I've invested in a few small businesses, which has been fun.

I definitely like that side of the business.

I've started several myself, which is not only a huge financial investment, but obviously your time and effort.

So I have a financial planner handles most of my activity in the market.

I'm not a day trader.

I don't do that.

And then I personally have a lot of money in our company just earning the 9%.

So the conservative side of my business or investing is with my company, private money funding.

But I really enjoy paying attention to small businesses, trying to invest in small businesses, help them grow.

And that's probably the most exciting investments I've done.

They're by far the riskiest.

It's a very small part of my portfolio.

Some I like to pay attention and do, but you're always trying to find a unicorn and they just currently haven't existed yet.

So I haven't found one yet.

Yeah, no, it's interesting.

Yeah, small business is a very interesting place to focus on.

We've done a lot of different things.

And I think if you can find, I mean, a lot of people too, there's like boomers that are retiring or have a business.

Your stories are sometimes people selling.
