So I think we were at the, at the awards function just over a week ago, and a lot of things were said about you, Anton, and, and many people ...

You were there from the start when the, the industry is as it is at the moment.
Well, at this stage of my life, I'm, I'm glad I was there at some of these key, key moments, but I don't want a repeat of any, [laughs] any of them.
Uh, but I think I was very blessed to have been, uh, uh, in the industry in a time of, of, of change.
Uh, at the time we came out of a 50-plus year dispensation where year after year after year, it was basically the same.
Growers produced, gave it to their pack house, they gave it to, uh, the DFB initially, later to Uni果果, and then they just sat back and waited for their money.
And then things started to change, uh, with the global sort of meltdown of, of, of all these control boards and free trade debate and all those sort of things.
Uh, and then we, we were next and we went through a, a, a, a fairly rough, rough time.
They actually invited me at that time to come and speak to their, their growers and, and one of my messages to them was, "Look, don't look at what other people do.
You've got your own culture, you've got your own personalities, you've got your unique sit- situation.
Um, and yeah, it was a 15, 15-plus year sort of process, which started with the deregulation of the local market and we, we had some of our bigger pome entities started to create brands, uh, marketing, uh, uh, divisions.
But our stone fruit industry and, and the table grape industry, I don't think they were, they, they were prepared.
We, uh, we had to take care of the three, uh, fresh fruit, uh, in- industries, uh, uh, pome, stone, and table grape.
