Washington Nationals fans may be underestimating Brady House’s breakout potential after a quietly impressive 2026 season. With an improved on-base percentage, significant power numbers, and advanced…
So for the first six weeks of the season for Brady House, it wasn't like the best go around for him.
And in fact, he was sent down on May 19th And he had a slash of 227, a 282 OBP, a 399 slug with a 681 OPS.
But really more importantly than that, he had a really bad defensive just all-around system.
And it was kind of surprising because we all thought that House would be this stalwart over at third base and someone who I always thought had the potential to be a gold glover over at third base.
He was sent down for a couple of weeks and brought back up once the Nationals traded away Curtis Meade.
And that's when we saw a much better and, in my opinion, more real version of Brady House.
And if you look at the overall numbers, the guy finished the season with a 710 OPS.
And in fact, his slugging, while it was up 50 points from this season, was actually even slightly worse than what it was in the first half.
But he put together a much different season in that second half after he was called back up.
It was consistent from the first half into the second half, but it was the on-base percentage.
In his final 51 games, Brady House had a 343 OBP compared to when he was sent down, he had a 282 on-base percentage.
And that was something that I think we saw really just from last season going into this season as well.
