Harmonizing Heaven: Rick Norris' Musical Journey through the Angelic Wars

Well, talk about how your book ties into the Bible and what kind of angels are in the Bible.

That's a good question because if you watch everything from, what's the Disney one, Fantasia, you have the little angels, the little fat little cherubs, you know, shooting around from Greek mythology, I guess.

Angels are in lots of different literature.

Because I'm a Bible teacher, I actually have footnotes to the Bible of the settings that I use and also a lot of the language that the angels use.

And so I do that on purpose just to give some sort of grounding of what I'm writing.

But in the angels, I think in the actual Protestant Bible, which is 66 books, I think there's only really two angels.

That's Gabriel and Michael that are named.

And then in the Apocrypha, that's the seven books that are added to the Catholic Church.

You have other things like Raphael and Malachi and Uriel.

So I use those two.

What I did do is I changed Raphael into Raffaella.

And I did that as an honor to my Italian grandmother, because she's about as close as you can get to an angel of people I've known.

And and so I have like two angels that are female.

I know one person wrote in a comment saying, well, angels are all male.

Well, we use the names Michael and Gabriel as male.

And I think one or two places that mentioned that they may have somebody that may have been an angel kind of look like a man.

But for the most part, they don't have a gender.

There's no sex.

I mean, they don't reproduce.

So there really is nothing of male or female and angels.

So I kind of took that artistic liberty of that.

So then I wrote this book using scripture as a guide.

And one of the things I did is I used the seven cities of Revelation, which is, let's see if I can go through a few of them anyway, Philadelphia, Ephesus, Thyatira, Sardis, Smyrna.

And I used those as districts in heaven.

And I used my artistic license to actually create heaven.
