🎬 Oscars betting: The Best Bet of the Season & The Odyssey's Rival

We had the New York Film Festival, which had a few world premieres.

We had Behemoth, exclamation mark, which doesn't seem to be a player anywhere.

That sort of was a bust.

And we had Artificial, which does seem to be a player, with Andrew Garfield, who's definitely win-competitive.

for supporting actor.

Could be a picture nomination chance as well.

I'll tell you what Artificial did.

It shot down any chance that the social reckoning had of squeezing in for a Best Picture nom.

That was a big bust out for Sorkin.

I had a few early bets on that that are all likely gone.

I had...

I had it for a picture nomination and a picture win and Madison for an actress nomination.

Not too much damage taken, thankfully.

Now, you two have seen it.

I have not.

I'll wait for my screener.

But just some quick thoughts, Professor.

Well, Tony, last year I had the unusual experience of sitting next to a bearded young man who had his head in his hands.

He was huffing and puffing as I watched one of the most overrated films of 2025, which was Weapons.

And I think this was equally an underwhelming experience.

It's got the bones of a good movie.

It's very topical.

Mark Zuckerberg is a fascinating character.

But this is a really, really problematic film.

Beginning with the setup of Mark Zuckerberg, he's practicing for a future deposition that doesn't actually happen and there's no sort of payoff.
