Matt YoungGuestRobyne Hanley-DafoeHostLike you have spent a lot of time both in professional sport and beyond in the work that you're doing as a high performance coach.
And I am just so curious about what are you doing these days? What's top of mind for you? And what are the big thoughts that Matt Young is navigating right now?

No, I suppose what I'm looking to do is to help create positive, lasting change in people's lives.

What I feel very passionate about is where people get stuck, limiting emotions, masking of identities.

Essentially where I was for many years of my life, that is my main focus and has been now for a number of years.

Naturally, as you mentioned, I was a professional football player for many, many years and I I can resonate with people who are in high performing environments and high performing workspaces because I've lived that life.

I used to deal with quite deep limiting emotions that would stop me, anxiety, fear, worry, doubt, oppressive thoughts, OCD tendencies, these types of things.

And that's essentially my mission now where I try to quote unquote be a big deal to try and help people in that particular space.
So if it's okay with you, I would love to hear about, if you're open to it, some of those years as the professional football player, and also just how significant it is when we essentially deconstruct an identity and we start imagining what's possible in our, what we call our second summit or our life after after some of these major identity pieces.
So tell us what it was like growing up as a footballer and what that experience was like for you.

From the age of four, five years old when I first asked my dad that I wanted him to take me over to the park to kick a football to, you know, when I was 18 and got my first professional football contract to then making my professional debut and everything that come with that.
