Ele Mumford on faithfulness and adventure with Jesus

It's not my responsibility.

Yeah.

It is my responsibility to pray.

You, you, you mentioned just then, uh, that you love Jesus.

Tell, tell us- Oh, I do ... who, who's Jesus to you.

Who, who, who is He? Who is He? I think He's electrifying.

I think He's magnetic.

I think He's exciting.

I think He talks straight.

I think He tells truth.

Everything I hear and read that He says resonates in my spirit.

I think He's wonderful.

And I have loads and loads of quotations about things that people have said about Jesus, and my favorite is Lord Hailsham when he was, um, at Oxford as a young man.

He's dead now, but he was Lord Chancellor of England when I was young.

And, um, I taught his daughter.

Did you? Oh, I did.

I didn't think it did any good to her at all.

[laughs] However, he was a wonderful old man.

And he became a Christian at Oxford.

Mm.

And he wrote a book called The Door Wherein I Went.

And he said in his book, "I had never before thought of a laughing, joking Jesus, a Jesus who, um, invented funny nicknames for his friends and who held his, his friends spellbound by his talk." Mm.

He said, "I am persuaded that we would have been transfixed by this happy, glorious man." And that's who he is to me.

Yeah.

He's just a happy glorious man and I can't talk about him without j- just becoming emotional.
