God cannot work in our lives or through us if we do not have a heart prepared for him.
John Z. JohnHostFertile ground for God to work.
Amen.
Amen.
Fertile ground.
What do you mean by a fertile ground? A fertile ground.
What does it mean by a fertile ground? A ground that's ready.
To receive.
Yeah.
A, a ground that's ready, a ground that's prepared, the ground that's well-set.
Okay? So a fertile ground is ground that's ready to give birth to something, to produce something, right? It's prepared for it.
Amen.
A fertile ground for God to work.
And when I looked into this some y- months or years ago, I don't know when, I was really touched by understanding this fact that even God looks for a ground that's fertile, meaning a ground that's prepared, a ground that's ready.
'Cause God wants to do something, but God cannot do it on a ground that's not ready.
And God wants to prepare that ground, or you and I must partner with God in getting that ground ready so God can do something.
I wanna look at Abraham and Sarah.
"Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby.
When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.
He said, 'If I have found favor in your eyes, my Lord, do not pass your servant by.
Let a little water be brought, and then you may all wash your feet and rest under the tree.
Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and, and then go on your way—now that you have come to your servant.' 'Very well,' they answered, 'do as you say.'" Abraham and his wife, they are sitting in their tent, and maybe it's sometime in the afternoon.
Uh, and maybe they're having a conversation and, I don't know, something that they're doing by themselves.
And all of a sudden, Abraham looks out of his tent and he sees three men standing right there.
