The midterm elections are nearly here and the stakes are high for two particular races: the California gubernatorial race and the L.A. mayor race. In the first episode of our Voter Game Plan series…
Frank StoltzeGuestJosie HuangHostMarisa, what are you seeing in California and does it mesh with what are top issues nationally?
You know, affordability, the cost of virtually everything, especially gas, is really top of mind for voters, I think, no matter where you are in the nation.
I think here in California, where Democrats statewide outnumber Republicans two to one, you also see polls reflect that fighting the Trump administration is a top priority.
And I think if you dig into individual communities, there's obviously concern about things like immigration.
Public education, health care access, but just the broader issue of how much things cost is really what's driving politics right now.

And they're concerned about the city's response to the Palisades fire a year and a half ago and whether the city was properly prepared.
