Now, the word Mu'tah, expedition, we're using the word expedition as opposed to battle because this is a Sariyya.

What's the difference between Sariyya and Ghazwah? The Prophet participated himself.

Yeah.

So the Ghazwah is the one in which the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam himself participated, and Sariyya is in which he- Nominated ...

he nominated somebody.

He sent the Sahaba.

He didn't take part himself.

So this particular, uh, battle is a Sariyya, uh, and we call it the Sariyya of Mu'tah, Mu'tah.

So most of the scholars have said that is the pronunciation is Mu'tah.

No Hamza, just Mu'tah.

Thus, majority of the scholars have said the pronunciation is Mu'tah.

However, others have said that it's meem and then hamza and then ta.

So that would be Mu'tah, Mu'tah.

So Mu'tah or Mu'tah.

Both of them are correct.

Mu'tah is fine.

Mu'tah is also fine.

You will come across both.

Some will pronounce it as the Battle of Mu'tah, others will say Battle of Mu'tah.

Both are fine.

If anybody's been to Jordan, this is one of the places that they take you to visit as well, the battle site, uh, where this battle unfolded and took place.

Where exactly is it? So in Jordan, uh, where you have the capital is Amman.

Uh, then further on there is a place called Al-Karak.

So twelve kilometers south from Al-Karak is this place called Mu'tah, and this is where this battle took place during the time of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
