Eco-Fest takes place in Hulme Park Manchester Sat 16th May 2026 featuring a range of community activities. Organised by Vegan Organic Network Charity, Giles Bryant catches up with charity head, Dan…
Dan GrahamGuestGiles BryantHostWell, we are getting ready on, um, the weekend, on Saturday for EcoFest, which is a fantastic event taking place in Manchester.

Well, EcoFest is inspired by our inspiration to bring veganism and vegan organics to the general public, and for, for vegan organic and veganism to be a core part of, uh, community activities.

So for this event, we've, uh, we've got lots of, uh, local community, uh, groups involved.

Um, we've got lot [laughs] we've got lots of, uh, we've got local bands involved.

So a lot of these groups would never have come across the word vegan or, or let alone the word vegan organic.

And now giving out publicity and advertising an event which veganism is the c- the, the center of, and at the back of the flyer there's an advert for our, uh, film competition.

So again, it, it, it sort of opens people's eyes to these different worlds and why, and why should we be vegan and why should we be growing vegan organics and why it is so important that...

And everybody is part, has to be part of this movement, and the movement is an educational movement.

It's a, it's a, it's a very simple philosophy really, and as we, we want to create a world with clean rivers and oceans, an abundance of wildlife and it's, and it's something which I think most people, apart from the few sociopaths, who seems to be the people that are running the planet at the moment, most people I think, you know, wanna live in a peaceful world and wanna have all these basic things and, and vegan organics is, is the way, is the road.

I mean, this is, this is where once you start going down the road, "Well, how do we achieve this?" We've gotta have a, a food system which doesn't pollute our rivers, doesn't tear down our forests, which doesn't use chemicals and pesticides, and it's very simple.

And if we can manage to talk to people, um, through these events, we need to have more of these events, and hopefully the, one of the ideas of the event is to inspire other people to go, "Well, we can do a similar event," even if it's just a little meeting in your local community.

I mean, this, this event started off with little community meetings in local youth centers doing vegan potlucks, having a, ha- uh, having a few leaflets and a few magazines.
