Today's theme is ocean education, which might sound like textbooks and memorizing the water cycle, until you remember we are dealing with an environment that is pitch black, bone-chillingly cold, and completely full of creatures that look like they fell out of a sci-fi movie.

Let us begin with the small version of the question.

Earth, Planets, and the Classic Human Future A future Earth with 10 or 20 billion people is enormous by modern standards, but cosmically speaking is still a village with delusions of grandeur.

We already support around 8 billion people.

Not comfortably everywhere, not wisely everywhere, and certainly not efficiently everywhere, but we do do it.

A million billion lives.

A civilization where the number of plumbers, professors, park rangers, and pastry chefs might each exceed the whole modern human population.

that sounds absurdly large and yet by the standards of serious astro engineering a quadrillion people is still fairly modest because the important lesson is that planets are not actually the main resource they are merely the most emotionally obvious one Planets are heavy.

They come with gravity wells.

Earth balances itself out.

The creator who created the planet Earth created us.

The planet, we never run out of water for the last four billion years.

All the water we're drinking, it gets recycled.

And we never run out of it.

The temperatures are steady because the hurricanes are used to bring the temperatures up and down depending on where the planet Earth is and where our creator wants it to be.
