How the Iran Conflict Disrupted Fuel Markets Across America

“Send Jobbers Podcast a text” For more episodes, resources, and behind-the-scenes updates, visit: www.jobberspodcast.com What happens when a war halfway around the world sends fuel markets into complete chaos? In this episode of Jobbers: American Energy, Jason Case sits down with Caitlin Scherr, ROC's Director of Fuel Supply Chain, to break down the real-world impact of the Iran conflict on fuel prices, supply chains, and fuel distribution across the western United States. Drawing on nearly two decades of experience in fuel procurement, inventory management, pricing, and supply logistics, Caitlin provides a week-by-week account of one of the most volatile fuel markets in recent memory. From overnight price swings and margin calls to customer impacts and supply disruptions, the conversation offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at what happens when global events collide with local fuel markets. The episode explores how military actions in the Middle East created immediate shockwaves across wholesale fuel markets, forcing companies to adjust prices multiple times per day while managing inventory, cash flow, and customer expectations. It also highlights the challenges fuel marketers face when volatility moves faster than supply chains can react. Finally, the discussion looks ahead at what comes next for fuel markets, refinery infrastructure, global shipping routes, and the long-term outlook for diesel and gasoline pricing. If you want a real-world look at how international conflict impacts fuel supply, pricing, and the businesses that keep America moving, this is the conversation. 🎧 In This Episode: • How the Iran conflict impacted fuel markets • Why diesel prices surged across the western U.S. • The role of futures markets and fuel hedging • Managing inventory during extreme volatility • Margin calls, cash flow, and supply chain pressure • Why wholesale prices move faster than retail prices • Customer impacts during periods of high fuel costs • Fuel logistics across Nevada, California, Arizona, and Utah • Predictions for future fuel prices and market stability YouTube Chapters 0:00 Coming Up...  1:08 Meet Caitlin Scherr, Director of Fuel Supply Chain  2:38 Understanding Fuel Procurement, Pricing & Inventory  4:17 How Global Events Impact Local Fuel Prices 5:39 Week 1: The Iran Conflict Begins- Diesel Prices Spike  9:00 Week 2: Fuel Market Volatility Become the New Normal  13:18 Week 3: Customers Start Feeling the Impact  18:10 Week 4: Fuel Markets Swing Again  22:45 Week 5: Signs of Stabilization  24:15 Week 6: The Market Crashes Nearly $1 Overnight  29:00 Week 7 & 8: Post-Ceasefire Market Volatility  32:07 Weeks 9-12: Market Stabilization & Future Outlook  40:13 Fuel Price Predictions for 2026 & Beyond  44:11 Final Thoughts Thank you for watching Jobbers: American Energy, the podcast that captures the real, unscripted stories of the people powering America’s fuel and energy industries.
