Hello and welcome to the Irish Marketing Podcast, powered by IMJ and Tim Pop Productions.

I'm Daryl, and today we are talking top of the pops for supermarket shelves, aka the checkout top 100 brands for 2026.

This year at the top of the list and for the 22nd consecutive year is Coca-Cola.

No surprise there, but perhaps more of a conversation to be had around what's happening below that top 10 in the top 100 where there are some interesting changes and trends emerging to help me dig into it i was joined by maeve martin editor of checkout and ruth lloyd evans senior business insights manager at niq to talk about what this year's top 100 tells us about brands and their customers about what consumer groups are driving change across retail and grocery, about how prominent own label brands are in the overall shopping landscape mix, and about how brands are prepping for the inevitable changes brought about by wider adoption of GLP-1 meds.

The trend is starting here now, but it's likely to continue and certainly has consequences in terms of what people are putting into their shopping baskets.

Before we get into it, if you're enjoying the podcast, as ever, we'd love you to leave a rating or comment and follow us on your platform of choice.

Also, if you'd like to have a story featured on the podcast, just get in touch.
