Anyway, so w- last time out in Italy we saw Kimi Antonelli basically play the, uh, last to first challenge where he convincingly beat out his, uh, teammate and championship rival, George Russell.
But hey, here we are again with this new track.
It's been getting all s- kinds of concerns from drivers and fans alike, you know, especially about, I believe there was the thing that happened with F3 where they had about 19 red flags and people kind of worried that in this race we're gonna have F1 drivers crashing out all the time and stuff.
But guys, there is an important bit of context that people seem to forget there, and it was highlighted by someone on, uh, The Race podcast, shout out to them, where they actually said essentially those F3 crashes would've happened because essentially you've got F3 drivers, they're young, they're green, they're still trying to, you know, get their, you know, sink their teeth [laughs] into it all.
You know, get the skill in there.
And also it is a test day, so they're gonna be pushing quite hard.
And remember at that point, that track was dusty as hell.
It was completely green.
Nothing has really run around that track and laid down any kind of significant grip.
So, you know, you mix all of that into one pot and you just end up with a, a lot of carnage in a way.
But I'm guessing now, you know, with this weekend have, after having had some rubber laid down, driver- F1 drivers tend to be a little bit more sensible than their, uh, junior counterparts 'cause they've got a lot more experience and, uh, you know, their machinery costs a little bit more to fix and repair.
So they're not as, uh, willing to, uh, let's say push those limits and push it into walls that, that much.
'Cause again, it will affect them.
But anyway, uh, before we get into all that stuff and what happened with the race, guys, let's, uh, do the customary little bit of news reading be le- that was leading up to this weekend.
