Seeing Tarot Episode 9: The King of Wands

Yeah, let's talk about this ruler.

I mean, but firstly, I am so, so excited that we've like done a whole court.

We've got the wands wrapped up here, and I can see behind you, you know, the the three that came before that just like it's so satisfying seeing them arrayed out and this is like the group of cards that is where we start talking about people and ways of being in the world and personality and the king and queen are all about mastery so It's like you go through with the page and the knight, like learning about that group of cards, the element that it's associated with.

And then you have that expertise and power.

So with the King of Wands, you know, we're talking about fire and they are the ruler of fire and their authority manifests in this very outward facing, powerful way.

This is like, I feel like the kings tend to be more practical, not in a sense of like wisdom, but they're very concerned with the world out there and how to work with it, how to exercise your willpower.

And of course, with these cards too, we have a sense of responsibility.

So how to use the fiery traits of innovation and ambition and just brute energy.

You know, this is like the group where you have like an endless supply of motivation and drive.

And so how to use that in its positive sense to shape the world.

But of course, that being said, with any tarot card, we can, by context or if people are reading with reversals, have negative manifestations of those very same traits.

So that can also show up as well.

But with this particular king, we're really getting into this kind of hands-on, active, and I would say almost like they're at the vanguard of a lot of things.

The wands really like to be pushing the boundaries.

And so this is a card, too, where we see... strategies and people who want to go and get out there.

So this was a really fun one to get reacquainted with, going back to the texts and the tomes and seeing what people are talking about and how they've been looked at over time.

But I'm curious, what was it like for you diving into this card without a bunch of background information? And what was your first impression?
