The Fool

Today, we are going to just speak about my relationship with the tarot, how I work with the cards, what I recommend in terms of thinking about them as a holistic body of work that we're going to engage with.

Next week, we'll start and we'll start with the fool.

We'll just start at the beginning.

There they are, the fool.

So we'll start with the full and we'll just walk through the major arcana.

We'll move through the wands.

And once we start moving through the weekly cards, if you have used this podcast as a weekly guide, as some way to kind of anchor in or check in with energy, spirit, yourself, me, community, You can continue to do that.

You continue to use the cards.

It's a nice little introduction.

Right? And it takes the major arcana and rather than using the deep, deep golden dawn associations, it just goes through the fool's journey.

It just has a little narrative that sits behind it.

And one thing, like, I wouldn't want to go to an astrology conference because astrologers tend to make astrology their entire identity and it's very easy to do because it's very complex, it's deep, everyone has an opinion.

You can turn tarot reading into like dice rolls if you wanted to with this.

Ooh, nice.

And then, so I think we had like one on the minor arcana, one on the face cards, then one on the major arcana and the major arcana focused on like the fool's journey, you know? So I, So I'd be like, all right, next week, get ready to tell the story of The Fool's Journey.

We went through it, and I was like, you can take notes as much as you want, but the most important thing is you have to be able to describe The Fool's Journey in your words.

Yeah.

Yeah, so I think those are some of my, I mean, I love The Fool.

The Fool is probably my favorite card.

The first one I created and I just feel like it's very me, like peering out over the edge of this like huge blue ocean of possibility and the little monarch butterfly being like, come on, let's go, let's try it.

And then the monarch shows up again at the end on the world.

That's a me era.

What is happening? Did it go backwards to the fool? No, I am realizing just now that this book has a massive typo, like a massive publication error in it, and that the fool card is after judgment.

like the fool card that I would read, they have an extra fool card after judgment where the world should be.

So I was like, well, that's fun.

Can we blame him?

And they're in the sky just kind of looking very serene overall and you can kind of see like There's like clouds along with the fixed signs in each corner.

This is card You took it you took my card This is card 21 in the major arcana.

This is the last card of the major arcana So at this point in the world we have moved through as the fool the lifeline death line and now we are finishing up the rebirth line in this place which is really cool yeah

And the major arcana are the most important cards in the deck.

Like Jan was mentioning, they follow a specific journey, the fool's journey.

And each part of the card basically represents a spiritual journey that all of us go on because all of us are the fool.

So I think maybe we should just jump right in and talk about The Fool.

I'll just start.

The Fool is about beginnings.
