Jayson Tatum, what does he do? One of 10 in the second half, two points, minus 19, didn't have a rebound.

Truly just terrible decision-making throughout a lot of the second half in terms of the shot selection.

And in the first game of it officially being the Tatum era, by himself, his team, they lose the game because of him.

There were other things that went wrong that we're gonna talk about, but if Jayson Tatum has a non 13-point performance, like s- just something that's slightly below average instead of the absolute worst, they beat the Pistons today.

The other guys did what was necessary to win this game, and it's, it's too bad Paul George had his 38-point Celtics debut wasted.

He had an incredible three threes in a row heat check stretch in the third quarter that made you think that this was going to be a special day, and it was, just for the wrong reasons.

There were definitely things you can nitpick that were good from Jayson Tatum today, but largely I thought the shot selection was pretty gross, and there was a lot of, like, weird just shot it really early in the shot clock or after getting a rebound shots that didn't make any sense.

And others where he looked off passes that could've been momentum swinging plays.

Like, I had the one, I'm gonna pull it up because it pissed me off in real time, big time, and it was later in the fourth quarter.

They'd already gone through the whole we're gonna lose this game and everyone knows we're gonna lose this game stretch, but they're trying to build some momentum, and they get this in the fourth quarter, where they've gotten a rebound, they're running in transition, and this is what the floor looks like.

You have Cade Cunningham, who is clearly stopping the ball, Payton, the Pr- Payton Pritchard on his right, who's gonna run to the wing three pointer, and Derrick White, who's on his left, who is being shaded by Duncan Robinson, but Duncan Robinson isn't quite that close to him.

Payton doesn't fill the lane on the outside on the right side, but Derrick White remains wide open.

Derrick White, who shot the ball well today, credit to him, bounce back start to the season.

And Tatum takes a disgusting, forced, double-teamed left-handed layup, falls on the floor.

It was just things like this that kinda piled up that you're like, "Oh, why did he do that? Why didn't he just make the extra pass?" Pretty disappointing day.
