Fully Completely

Hello, Jeff.

Welcome, hotel guests.

Good morning, Mike.

The end is in sight.

Our election season is drawing to a close.

Two down, one to go.

We've got a lot to talk about today.

Local elections, the results, the aftermath.

We have to at least acknowledge the Alberta referendum, which happened last night.

We're recording here on Tuesday.

We've got the final week of the BC election campaign upon us.

Conservatives have released a platform.

Uh, boy, where do we start? Why don't we start with Alberta? Um, last night, uh, so far with 82% of the polls reporting, uh, remains 76%.

Uh, strong turnout.

They say the turnout may exceed 80%.

Uh, what's your hot take Jeff?

Well, I'm really pleased with the outcome, of course.

I don't think it means the end of these debates about what happens and how Canada unfolds and develops.

And I think it'll be very interesting to see what happens next, given that the federal government's committed to do things for the oil sector, which lots of Canadians may have some concerns with.

They may or may not proceed to, I think, because the private sector partners are slower to come to the table than you might think.

But I think a lot of what happens around Alberta politics is energy related.

And we'll see how the energy world unfolds in the next few weeks and months and years because that will have a big impact on prices to Alberta, how much the Alberta government receives in revenue and a whole set of other things.

So I don't think we've heard the last of some of these issues.

Well, I don't think Mark Carney could have done anything more.

No, that's for sure.
