If you're a newbie trying to break in, or suppose you're Pete Fry and you really want to try to make your mark somehow, how do you do it? If you don't have a lot of money to buy social media ads, you are hooped.

And the day that you decide to really double down on some big announcement could be the day that Carolyn Finley suffers some setback or makes some crazy announcement, who knows, or a good announcement.

That's a good point on the social media ads because there's going to be a lot more competition for those ads and meta and... and the Google and all those guys will come out, come out looking pretty good.

But they are not the only players in this mix.

So still in the mix, in addition to Pete Fry, who is sort of the remaining in the battle royale between The Greens win city and cope on a mayoral race, as some people have been calling it.

So, you know, Pete Fry, current councillor, has that name recognition, will be a mayoral candidate that they hope to get that progressive vote behind.

But there are other slate parties running progressive candidates.

Still in the race and they are not backing out and they're not and they're not as tied into some of these discussions or they weren't as tied in at all to some of the narrowing the field discussions across progressive parties.

The – Aseroff and Allen have dropped out to endorse Pete Fry from the Greens.

Aseroff did not endorse Pete Fry?

Well, this is an important aspect of this, which is also relevant in Burnaby and a number of other places where you have slates.

I was going to give mine to the three left-wing parties in Vancouver running in the municipal election who decided to work together first they decided to work together to only run smaller council slates to not split the vote and this week we had their last week cope mayor candidate Stephanie Allen bowed out.

And this week we had the one city candidate, Merrill candidate, bow out to support Pete Fry from the Greens because he has the likeliest chance of beating Ken Simm.

And I think it was just good to see a little bit of strategic thinking from a very difficult election.

Yeah.

And they've got like the Pete Fry's run for the B.C. Greens before.

They got lots of ties there, lots of like staff crossover.

And you may recall in our last episode, we talked about one city's William Azarov and Cope Stephanie Allen dropping out of the race.

And that leaves Pete Fry of the Green Party as the sole candidate from their rather loose coalition.

But there are still three main other parties challenging Ken Sim in this election.

And they have all made clear that they, too, are in it to win it.

Not like those other parties with their unpractical crazy ideas for the city.

Rebecca Bly is for practical.

Talked about being in the middle to unveil some of her plans and is trying hard to basically become that dominant third option for voters between Ken Sim and Pete Fry being the quote-unquote progressive choice of the three other parties we talked about.

He dropped out yesterday and endorsed Green Party candidate and current councilor Pete Fry.

So based on that, I did feel a lot of energy and momentum, uh, building, uh, for the campaign.

Okay.

And so why, why are you endorsing then Pete Fry? 'Cause that's, that's a pretty big step.

Well, I mean, again, the three progressive parties have longstanding connections and, and, um, communication between them.
