DON'T MESS THE MESSAGE - Lisa Moore

My first point tonight is don't mess the message and get the right Christ.

And I'm going to tell you what I mean by that.

You know, we all we believe in the Trinity.

We believe that there is one God and eternally exists in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Christ, who is God, came to earth as a man.

Christ was God incarnate.

Christ was fully man and fully God, what we call hypostatic union.

You know, I actually know that word and I stumbled.

I think Ali made me nervous because he's a theologian.

But hypostatic union means this, that at the same time, not 50%, but he was 100% God and 100% man.

In Philippians chapter two, verse five, it says this.

In your relationship with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus, who being in the very nature, who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God, but something to be used to his own advantage.

Rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant and being made humble in human likeness.

And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Colossians 2.9 says this, The whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.

In Colossians chapter 113, it says this.

And he delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the son of his love in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins.

He is the image...

Now, that word image that Paul used here, he could have used a common Greek word here that meant similar, but instead he used a word, he is the very image.

You know, when you take a coin where there's a country where the king and the queen is on that coin, it's not another person.

It's the image of that person.

That's what Paul is trying to say in here in Scripture.

It's not a different person.

He's the image.

of the invisible God, firstborn over all creation.
