Alex GaleHostcongratulations yeah um so phenomenally successful you've made this second series now the first series was available every everyone can listen to the first series right it's on yeah yeah wherever you get your podcasts second series is not it's behind your paywall right yeah so i'm wondering what led to that decision and have you had any kind of um blow back off that it hasn't worked

i like to think of going behind a paywall as what capitalism told me i was allowed to do in the same way i think that most of the coffee i have is behind a paywall and certainly my clothes are behind a paywall um It's frowned upon if I wander into Uniqlo and just take them.

Since the corporate takeover, the money's all gone to the very top and there's nothing else.

So if you make it another first series took about six months to make and we made nothing made like 24 quid or something.

And I just went, what if we treat it like an album? Like you spend six months making an album.

And then you say to people who like the album, would you like to buy the album for £10? And generally, that seems to work for books, and it seems to work for all other goods in our culture.

So people were saying, when's another series? And you kind of go, I'm going to ask you to put your hand in your pocket for it.

In the same way as you would do if you go to the theater or you go and see a band.
