Another zombie thing that's

pretty cool that people should check out is Charlie Brooker, who made Black Mirror.

He made a show before that called Dead Set.

That's about a zombie outbreak during a Big Brother-style competition, and the people inside the house don't know about it.

I guess if you've got a longer one, you're more likely to want to show it on telly.

But I do remember the... to something about a guy's pissing, who could piss the longest, which may or may not have been a Charlie Brooker thing, or it might have been a real thing I watch.

I honestly can't remember.

And it probably says something that those two sort of blend together.

And they do.

They show fannies.

And I remember speaking of Charlie Brooker, I learned from Screen Wipe that at least when it was on, when that was on TV, you couldn't show an erect penis, but you could show basically anything else of a human body.

Huh.

I wonder, you know, I, I'm, I'm very curious to see, uh, who would apply for this and how, if, how, how much will we hear about who is, you know, submitted their, their tent to this, you know, how much of this stuff will actually be out in the public?

Remember when Screenwipe came out, Charlie Brooker was talking about how much he loved Doctor Who.

And I've seen him say, I would never want to make it myself.

But I'm like, you made six seasons of Black Mirror and a bunch of other stuff.

This is just me throwing spitballs at the wall here.

But that would be a guy who has put in the time to learn how to do this stuff.

I would be very interested to see how Charlie Brooker had his own weird, dark, funny take on Doctor Who.

It seems like it kind of would fit.

J.J. Abrams both loves Twilight Zone and loves Spielberg, so he's doubly so.

Black Mirror, the creator of that show, Charlie Brooker, said, you know, look, I just stole Twilight are going to make things like that so it's going to keep resonating it's not going away and he said this thing not long before he died where again he was very dismissive of his achievements uh and he said you know good writing like wine has to age and most of my stuff has been momentarily adequate and you see that you're like

which I'd completely forgotten existed, which was the zombie TV show.

Big Brother.

Black Mirror is one of the very few TV shows that I will automatically watch when you watch it.

I love Charlie Brooker.

I think his stuff is brilliant.

Okay, so the first topic I'm going to talk about is the video games based on the Charlie Brooker TV show Black Mirror, starting with this one.

Black Mirror

Bandersnatch was a 2018 interactive film in the science fiction anthology series Black

Mirror.

It was written by Charlie Brooker and directed by David Slade and it premiered on Netflix on the 28th of December 2018.

Now the thing that makes this interesting, for this podcast in particular, is that the main character is a young programmer called Stephen Butler, who's basically adapting a fantasy game book into a video game in 1984.

So very home microcomputer based.

And her husband, she's married to Charlie Brooker.
