Rush

So there shouldn't be a lot of downtime between the two seasons when they run.

And, um, In season one, in addition to Lita, we had Rush.

Geddy and Alex flew in from Canada just to do the show, which I was so honored by.

Ace Frehley is in an episode.

this might be a hot take but it might be um okay um Well, part of me wants to say the Eiffel Tower because I went to the Eiffel Tower and it was fine.

I mean, it was a long climb and it's like I'm glad I did it, but I'm going to go with Mount Rushmore.

Really? It's not it's not it's not all it's cracked up to be.

And quite frankly, you know, given given America's history and, you know, everything like that, it's like, you know, no, no.

And that was from the 1968 album Wheels of Fire.

The hugely influential Cream... who, amongst other people, influence Rush.

We may have some Rush later.

Anyway, we've come to the part of the show called A Slice of a New Woman.

We've gone early this week because it's Diamond Head from the Death & Progress album, I Can't Help Myself.

It's our 100th show.

We have just had Letter G, and we were always going to do Giant.

And as Matt said, probably for the last couple of months, this year has been the year of Rush, the return of Rush to a live stage.

Oh, that fits in there, Mark.

Oh, it's Rush.

Working man.

I don't listen to that song enough.

I heard some people may have teared up

at it.

people of color were there?

I mean, I was pretty much a prog rock fan myself.

The first two shows I ever saw were both Rush at the Worcester Centrum back in high school.

So I saw Rush a number of times.

The first time I saw them, they actually played 2112 in its entirety.

And I was just

Those songs are so much fun as a musician for sure, because they've, they've become like this great challenge for figuring out how to play something that, you know, is, um, it's different enough that your parents didn't like it.

So, you know, that made it really likable to us.

And it's like really funny when you look at like the very first Rush album before Neil Peart joined them.

But the guys came down to record it, and it's a banging recording.

And a good story about that song is it's the first song where I used this amp that I bought from – One of the guitar players from Kix, Bob Pair, and who also plays in a Rush tribute band with Ricky Slezak, our drummer from Screaming Trojans.

And so Bob sold me this Marshall amp that used to belong to...

Lippy?

And Ricky, our drummer, can do that.

And it's pretty impressive stuff.

This is Jeff Bliss sitting in for Dave Congleton at KVC News Talk, 920 AM, 96.5 FM, where Jim and Kurt are playing Rush for our joy.

I'd prefer it be like going through the window right now.

We're

going to have to kick him out of the Rush fan club.

I don't know.

But then the following weekend, you know, for the 19th, I'm going to be in Cleveland, Ohio.

My good friend Kevin Anderson's going to be there with Hugh Syme, who designed the albums, the art for the albums for Rush, and a lot of artwork, and also designed... several of the books that Kevin co-authored with Neil Peart, as well as a few of Kevin's other books, like the reprint of Resurrection, Kevin's very first novel, and the novel that sort of introduced Kevin to Neil in the first place and how they became friends.

And Kevin and I hung out and met with Hugh in Toronto earlier this year, and it was great to hang out with him.

So it'll be great to see the two of them.

But I'll be there.

And that's going to be fun.

And I even got tickets to go see Rush again on the Thursday night.

And I was going to try to connect with some folks from that area.
