**Welcome back to the HEAR HER podcast!** This week, Heather sits down with artist, Reiki Master, and therapeutic art facilitator Gincy Carrington Plummer for a heartfelt conversation about…
Heather DresselHostI've been given tools by my Reiki teacher, by those books, like the Highly Sensitive Person book.
That was a game changer to me because she gave us the context of the human evolution, having the warrior kings and then their advisors, their wise advisors, which were critical in determining timing.
one thing it was too late or it hadn't it wasn't time yet all these things and understanding like this desire and kind of the opposite side of the spectrum from me which i don't want to use a term that is pejorative in any way but low sensitive is kind of the opposite of high sensitive but adrenaline seeker um stimulus seeker like there are other ways that maybe are a little more um
or whatever, because it has been in the course of the human family, like the growth seekers and the safety keepers, the warrior Kings need their advisors.
I mean, they're protecting their clans because for most of human survival, that is how we were.
We had whoever was the biggest and strongest protected the family.
It's only really recently that we've had the luxury of coming out of clan warfare, essentially.
And for high sensitives to have the awareness of their role supply, like these are the giraffes that weren't the lions in the grass were coming and so they weren't their herd.
that the lions of the grass were out there and so the giraffes could gallop off.
One of my other tools is investigating the archetypes and particularly Carolyn Mies' delivery to the archetypes and going into the artist's archetype in particular for me was another game changer.
Like this is my role to be in the growth edge of the human family.
And I can count on those safety keepers to pull us back and say, whoa, whoa, whoa, this is too fast.
Like, I am fully comfortable in being in that in my family now, my family of origin.
And it's funny, all five of my siblings, well, the last one's got the youngest kids.
But all of them have one kid who is clearly an artist and clearly is making all their work.
very athletic parents kind of scratch their heads a little bit and go, huh, hey, Gen Z, can you come talk to me about this one and connect with them or whatever? And it's been such a gift to me like, oh, this is how we are.
