The main campus in PPAC is composed of a specialized hospital, a nonprofit private school, an adult daycare center, and a fine arts center.

But the folks at Matheny have complex development disabilities, the residents, because they are long-term residents there who are in the hospital and then also avail themselves of the school.

But children from the community also go to the school, again, for complex medical disabilities.

One of the biggest challenges that Matheny has in addition to kind of the overall finances that most facilities struggle with or organizations struggle with is also awareness that they're out there.

And we really want to help promote the special mission of Matheny because when you go there, you see that it is a very, very special place with a lot of vibrancy to it.

First hooked into Matheny back in 2017, 2016, we did a recruitment for a director of FM at that time too.

And so for this episode, we talked to Jim, who's the director and Melissa Petraca, who's the manager.

And we speak with two of their maintenance mechanics, very good maintenance mechanics who do everything there.

Although they did not want to join the Healthcare Facilities Network, they were a little leery.
