Um, I think based on what we saw in the playoffs last year, um, I think we saw that veteran leadership kind of lacked.
Um, depth, defensive tough- toughness, and, um, a little bit of veteran leadership.
So when you look kind of the people that we signed this year, we got Wiggins and Dort, um, both players from a, you know, a winning culture in Oklahoma City.
Um, you know, uh, what I do love about, like, Lou Dort, um, uh, I got this quote from, uh, Onzie, and it's, "Bringing in Lou and Aaron from a championship team, guys who played in the finals a couple years ago, we needed that, that kind of pedigree in our room." Um, he also mentioned, you know, you got Jalen Johnson going up against Lou Dort every day in practice.
Um, the Dorture chamber is brutal, and I mean, that's really what you want to see.
How do you do that? Well, you bring in people that are gonna push him every single day in practice.
Um, you know, we, we had some big games in the playoffs against the Knicks and, you know, we were up two-one, and now you kind of look at, you know, bringing in some players who have that championship experience, have that toughness.
They know what it takes day in, day out to get to that endpoint of an NBA championship.
That's a great, that's a great point that I didn't really, I didn't really think much about it, um, initially, 'cause, you know, mainly you're just looking at the players and saying, "Well, Wiggins can be a lot more productive than he has been in Oklahoma City," and Lou Dort, um, brings a lot of toughness.
But I guess what, what you kind of also realize is that by bringing in those guys, um, they know exactly what it takes day in and day out to get to that point of it being a championship team, um, building that culture, and clearly that's a culture that Onzie, um, wants to have moving forward.
