Episode 18: YouTube Goes Hollywood

It feels like there's a million new headlines this week, but of course what the entire world is talking about is the Strait of Hormuz.

Is this ever going to end? The headline from CNN is 94 days of paralysis.

It's a completely choked off.

We're seeing how the traffic has just completely stopped through the Strait of Hormuz.

And if you see the actual charts they're providing, it is unbelievable.

I guess the, the straights closures continuing to cut off 20% of the world's oil supply and people are panicking.

And right now the most powerful shipping executives in the world are all gathered in Athens this week.

There's an annual international shipping exhibition.

And of course the hot topic is this.

And of course, we've heard a million different times what's going to happen and what to expect.

But most shipping executives remain unwilling to send their cargo ships through this 21-mile channel.

Is this ever going to end? And if and when it does, what does that look like, John?

Yeah, it's an own goal is what it is.

I mean, this is a disaster.

I can't believe that we go into a country like this and can't think through the repercussions of something like this happening.

This is exactly what everybody said would happen.

And it happened just like everybody said it would happen.

You also have about 10 to 12% of world goods flow through that straightable moves as well.

You got to figure out where we're going to be at the end of this.

You got to figure out a couple different scenarios.

There's a scenario where Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz.

There's a toll.

Things are not good under that condition.

And there's a condition on the other side where it's completely wide open like it was before.

and things go back to normal.
