We're both 23 and I love her so much and it's very important to her that we get married, especially because her grandma raised her and she likely won't be with us more than another three years.

I technically can't afford to give her the ring she wants or deserves, but I want us to get married before her grandma passes because I know that would mean the world to her to have her there.

Right now, I can only get her a small ring, and even $500 is a lot for me right now.

But I want to propose to her, but the engagement that she deserves is, again, more than what I can currently afford.

I think that that's a common thing, though, with younger people who are planning to get married because they're only 23.

So obviously they're probably going to have a lower budget for a ring and things like that.

Is it her getting her dream ring right away up front or is it her being able to get married while her grandma can still, you know, be a part of it?

I think you have to kind of figure out, you know, what's more important to her.

I would assume because it seems like she has a close relationship with her grandma.

I would assume that she would prefer, you know, just get whatever ring you can afford for now.

I feel like just because you get her like a certain engagement ring, maybe you can, uh, promise her a ring later down the road.
