Chef + Teacher Cat Clarke - Wimmera Golf Trail

With the kitchen here, on top of the work you do at Dimboola, you also do events.

Yes.

And other things.

So what else do you do with your

cooking? So I travel and do cooking demonstrations.

I've done kids' classes as well.

I'm starting up a project with some disengaged youth in Horsham soon, so getting them in the kitchen, not here at the premise that's organising it, to learn a bit about basic foods and cooking and... shopping and net nutrition looking after they're in yeah

i'm seeing a theme in regards to kitchen food children educating them and i understand through covid you created the junior chefs online

Yes.

And it was just a whole lot of fun, a whole lot of fun.

And don't get me wrong, I made a lot of mistakes on lives, like forgetting bits and pieces.

So at that stage, when COVID started, I was living up in Cairns and I'd spoken to my best mate and he said, they're going to close the borders.

And I said, what do you mean? Like, what does that even mean? No, they're not.

They can't do that.

This is Australia.

Yeah.

And then, yeah, push came to shove and then Paddy and I moved into my mum's in that first stint.

And I was like, this is madness.

What can I do? And I said to someone, I might start online classes.

And they go, are you nuts? And I'm like, well, I've got something to give.

And if no one joins, it's fine.

But if it's going to get them – people like – Because remember that first stint, we had no structure.

No one knew what was happening.

So I think we did five days a week at 10 a.m. cooking classes.

So what I'd do that night before and I tried to be really mindful on the ingredients that I was using to make sure that people had access to them because everything was going off the shelves.
