But in case you do not know, the way that ADCC works typically is the men's divisions are divisions of 16.
Women's divisions are divisions of eight.
There are three women's divisions and six or so men's divisions depending on how you want to count the super fight division or not in that category.
um that whole scenario this year notably uh last year was the first year in many years that we have had a women's absolute we no longer are going to have a women's absolute this year related or unrelated josh is being sarcastic you can't tell uh we're both pretty upset about that uh notably this year adele fornerino the under 55 kilogram champion and the women's open plate champion from 2024 has announced that she is not returning to adcc Interesting also of note, she has been announced for the women's GP for the UFC BJJ for the flyweight title, which we all kind of think it coincides with the UFC having – even though they have said – and everyone read the initial press conference that came out from the UFC a couple of months ago that was like ADCC – they still can do ADCC this year.
And I read the press conference and went, I don't think that's what that is saying.
Yeah.
Like you can't go and take a boxing fight or a kickboxing fight under contract for the UFC.
Until the UFC now has their own grappling organization and most likely has exclusive contracts with all of their athletes that are under fight contracts to not be able to do anything else.
So it isn't really shocking to me that Adele Fornarino isn't going to be at ADCC because she is in the UFC BJJ and is going to be contending for that title.
