61. You've Already Won - Part II

So I reached out to him, and he'd formed the Matt Gallagher Foundation.

I'm like, you know what? I want to be part of this.

I want to help.

And I want to do something tough.

So I did a race in Traverse City, Michigan.

It was a 180-mile mountain bike race, 24 hours.

So whilst I was there...

The organiser was a South African guy called Alex Harris, youngest guy to ever climb Mount Everest, phenomenal expeditionist.

Well, it turns out that he created this event in South Africa called the Munga.

And it's the toughest event.

It's deemed the toughest event on earth.

I don't believe it to be the toughest event on earth.

What Matt Gallagher was going through is by far the toughest event on earth.

so you know what i'm like i'm doing it i'm gonna do it i'm gonna i wanna do the toughest event on earth i wanna raise as much money as i possibly can for my friend matt gallagher so i trained i trained for 18 months whilst looking after billy and then uh last year just before thanksgiving which was mid-november i flew to johannesburg then drove to Bloemfontein to start the Munger, which is five days non-stop.

It's 1150 kilometres through the Karoo Desert.

When I got there, I was a bit saddened because they changed the name.

I like telling people it was the toughest event on earth.

But they changed it to... your journey, your story.

And I hated it, I thought, but then my journey began.

So off I went.
