Traverse City

Oh, yeah.

A carnival ride in Traverse City, Michigan suddenly malfunctioned.

What do you do when this kind of thing happens? What do you all do? Shut it the F down.

But how do you...

We saw that it came out like the week before.

And we were up north here somewhere up by Traverse City in the woods.

And it was three of us or two girls and a guy.

We went and saw that.

I think most people would.

Whether you're a Michigan or Michigan State fan, if you're driving in from Grand Rapids, if you're driving in from Traverse City, if you're flying in from out of town, you would like to know what it alters your plans.

A noon game versus a 7-15 game or whatever.

The dramatic difference, I would like to know.

But what sport do you not know what time your game is six days in advance? You're traveling to come to this game.

It makes a big difference if you're coming from, say, Traverse City or Indianapolis and you're coming in for this game.

It makes a big difference if that game is at noon or at 730.

It's a huge difference, so you have a whole window of time that that game apparently could be.

The boys were flown in on light aircraft, mostly Sheldon's own Cessna, and housed in the island's two-room lodge.

Few records of those trips survive, but flight logs recovered in 1976 show fuel purchases in Traverse City and Mainstee that matched the weeks the mission claimed to operate.

At least 20 boys were identified as participants between 1975 and 1977.

6.

Some of those letters mentioned North Fox Island by name.

Within days, Michigan State Police opened a joint inquiry with federal agents.

Records show that troopers from the St. Clair Post and detectives from Traverse City coordinated raids on both Richards' residences and Sheldon's Ann Arbor condo.

In the condo, investigators found aerial photographs of North Fox Island.

Traverse City voters will decide next week whether to approve a 20-year extension of the downtown district's tax increment financing plan.

The Downtown Development Authority held an open house Monday to answer questions about the proposed infrastructure-first TIF plan, which would modify the existing TIF 97 program set to expire at the end of 2027.

Supporters say the plan would provide dedicated funding for downtown infrastructure and services, while opponents argue the captured tax revenue should go to other county agencies and programs.

All right.

Can I go up to Traverse City? And get ill and end up in a nursing home in Traverse City for whatever reason.

Am I covered anywhere in the state of Michigan?

Oh, absolutely.

I want to get a couple more things in real quick before I run out of time.
