Vito RizzutoHostThere's been a lot lately, a lot of chatter about Martin St. Louis, a lot of emotional people out there, which prompted me to think about this.
Um, has this particular playoff, in general, forget the games with just, um, against, um, Carolina for now, but the entirety of this playoffs, has it at any point put it, sort of your faith in him as the coach and the coach of the future of this team into question? Are you confident as ever? Are you...
Has, has something occurred that perhaps has made you become a little bit more skeptical of what he's capable of doing? Um, give me your, your, your reaction on where Martin St.

Yeah, I mean, look, I, I, I more so than anyone have had my question marks, uh, surrounding Marty St. Louis from the beginning.

You know what I mean? Like, he, he keeps on evolving as a coach, and, you know, a lot of my friends, and a lot of people I know, and, and listeners, they, they say I'm, I'm, I'm negative and I'm, I'm not high on Marty St.

And, and [laughs] they tell me that I'm, I'm, you know, I'm hard on him and I don't like him.

I think it's okay to like his style, like his, what, what he brings to the table, but also acknowledge that there's a lot of gaps in his coaching system, and there's a lot for him to learn.

And, um, you know, there, there was a lot going wrong in, in terms of lineup decisions with the goalie carousels, uh, last year.

You can argue who's in and out of the lineup, uh, the, the refusal to change lines, uh, throughout the season.

Um, you can, you can say for a large part of the season, their, their play on their own end e- even last season was, was a bit of a disaster with the same exact...

He kind of turned it around, and he proved, to me at least, that he could be the guy because he really, he uses coaching staff well, and he kind of evolved it.

Going into this playoffs, though, you can tell he's being outclassed, especially with Rod Brind'Amour.

But, you know, I, I believe in every series he showed, um, that he wasn't an experienced NHL coach, and that there's a lot of work for him to do to get.

Again, his lineup, um, his lineup choices are questionable, I find, a, a, a lot of the times, and I find that it's just status quo, which is a sign of a coach who doesn't panic.
