66. The NAIC Episode

I was like, so there's a two-parter, right? So the weekend before NAIC was GoFest Chicago, which, you know, like maybe I want to go that, maybe I don't.

But I was sort of of the mindset of like, look, if I go over to the US early, I hit up GoFest Chicago, that's going to give me like a week to acclimatize to the time zone.

And so maybe, you know, we'll dodge any jet lag shenanigans.

So that was sort of the logic in my head.

So I landed in Chicago at like 9am or 8.30am and um on sunday morning of go fest um and uh shout out um pokemon as well for hooking me up with a free ticket as well for the full day um so i just sort of stayed in the park all day um and just hung out with everyone.

It's only my second GoFest ever after Osaka back in 2023, the week before Worlds.

So this is sort of my first one outside of that one, which was Insano.

And like the initial thought was like, Yokohama was so crazy because it was the World Championships.

Yes.

There were PVP players everywhere.

You couldn't walk 10 steps at GoFest without sort of running into another like person that you recognize that you know.

It was not that vibe at all in Chicago.

Whereas like I sort of, I just showed up.

I didn't make plans to meet up with anyone.

I didn't tweet out that I was there.

I didn't, I think I did when I got there to be, but like I hadn't announced it in advance that I was

coming.

Yes.

Sorry, Evo Stevo.

And so, yes, I can't believe that I missed Evo Stevo.

That's crazy.

Sorry, Evo.

Pfft.

Um, but, uh, yeah, I just like was kind of wandering around and I didn't really see anyone.

And I was like, I mean, I guess this makes sense.
