God's Face Shines Upon the Forgiven - A Sermon From Luke 9:27-36 from Pastor Sam Bierig at Gashland Baptist Church on August 2nd, 2026.
But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.
Now, about eight days after these sayings, He took with Him Peter and John and James and went up on the mountain to pray.
And as He was praying, the appearance of His face was altered, and His clothing became dazzling white.
But when they became fully awake, they saw His glory and two men who stood with Him.
And as the men were parting from Him, Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is good that we are here.
As he was saying these things, a cloud came over and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.
And they kept silent and told no one in those days anything of what they had seen.
Like you would if you had heart disease or cancer, you would listen to your doctor." He's saying, "This is my beloved Son, my Chosen One.
Don't take a step in your life, don't spend a penny, don't say a word without listening to Jesus." Yeah.
The main point that, that I'll kinda emphasize throughout is listen to the one and only begotten Son who shone before the foundation of the Earth.
And what do I mean by before the foundation of the earth? John, other gospel writers all throughout the scriptures talks about that God before creation, Father, Son, and Spirit, the great I Am, right? He-- So He is shining.
